The new QS website is improving in leaps and bounds as a go-to resource. This month sees a new home page, upgraded regional pages and the launch of the QS Toolbox, wonderful additions to our online presence and full of knowledge and tips.

The Rutherfords of Tarras run a big station in Central Otago that Tim Rutherford jokes it is ‘sometimes like having 3 farms to manange in one”. They feature in our latest case study.

Finally, QS is seeking someone to fill a new role in our team: Communications and Partnership Lead. Details below.

Launching the Quorum Sense ‘Toolbox’!

The previous Knowledge Hub on the QS website has been replaced with a revised, updated and streamlined Toolbox of resources, decision-making tools, and ‘how-to’ information.

The aim is to better support understanding – and enhancing – the biological and ecological processes driving farm productivity, health and resilience. The Toolbox draws from the knowledge and experience within the QS community, combined with established science and research. It is presented in a way that’s accessible to as many of our community as possible with links to additional resources for those who want to dive deeper.

New website homepage and regional pages

The Quorum Sense website has a new homepage https://www.quorumsense.org.nz/ to make it easier and quicker to access the information, content and contacts you’re looking for.

There’s also been changes to the regional pages https://www.quorumsense.org.nz/regional-groups-support to quicken access to group contact details, and make space for the new groups that are forming around the country.

Journeys into Regenerative Livestock Collection - next case study sneak peek

The third episode of the Journeys into Regenerative Livestock Collection will be launching next week. It features Tim and Camilla Rutherford who, along with Tim’s dad, manage the 5,500ha station at Tarras, Central Otago.

“Building Resilience and Regeneration (Despite Rabbits) with the Rutherfords”: How lower inputs, protecting the soil with longer covers, efficient irrigation and grazing management has led to more grass than ever seen since the family starting farming the brittle, harsh landscape in 1910.

Join the QS team: Communication and Partnership Lead sought

We are seeking a Communication and Partnership Lead to join our team. The role will be contracted until end June 2025 and is envisaged to be approx. 20 hours a week. This is an exciting time to join us as we build on our connectivity and reach.

Our events page features field days, workshops and conferences with a regen focus or aspect from around the country. It’s all a little quiet right now so the page is looking a bit empty!
