Dave Birkett is a mixed cropping and arable farmer from Leeston. Dave has been incorporating cover crops into his high value seed crops. He has done an immense amount of trial work in decreasing synthetic inputs to crops and soil tillage. Dave has proven that in the highly intensive world of cropping that soil resilience and less use of chemicals can lead to increased production and profitability.
