Michelle Barry

With an environmental and soil sciences background, QS Board Vice-Chair Michelle helps winegrowers improve soil health outcomes and communicate these to consumers.

Duncan Humm

The spokesperson for Quorum Sense, Duncan is QS Board Treasurer and a dryland deer farmer focusing on growing happy, healthy, productive animals and a resilient farm system.

Sam Hogg

QS Board Member Sam’s deep commitment to "helping heal and regenerate our precious planet" is reflected in the family’s organic dairy and vegetable farming system.

These following people are no longer officially part of the Quorum Sense board or team, but the beneficial impact of their involvement continues to this day. A founding member of QS and early chair of the board, Nigel is a mixed cropping farmer focused on crop nutrition for human, animal and plant health.

Dr Gwen Grelet

Former QS board member Gwen’s focus is on regenerative farm outcomes - environmental, economic, social and cultural - in NZ, Australia and USA.

Nick Gill

Former Board Member Nick has established the award winning Greystone Vineyard. When Nick isn’t at Greystone you will find him on The Food Farm.

Sam Lang

A founding member of the QS team, Sam Lang is a Nuffield Scholar and now 50/50 partner leasing a sheep, beef and arable block in the mid-Canterbury foothills.

Simon Osborne

Founding member of Quorum Sense and an original board member until Aug 2021, Simon's been applying biological approaches to the Doyleston family farm for 30 years.

Skye Rutherford

Skye was a QS team member from Sep 2020 to Dec 2021, Skye supported the team and board across various aspects of the extension project.

Rhiannon James

A QS team member until early 2022, Rhiannon brought an illustrator's eye to the team and continues to work with the QS team on an ad hoc basis as required.

David Birkett

An early board member and Treasurer for Quorum Sense. A passion for research and finding new growing techniques is what led David to Quorum Sense.

Gemma Carroll

A former QS board member who stepped down in August 2022, Gemma’s goal is to restore, enjoy and encourage biodiverse regenerative food systems in Aotearoa.
