Deferred grazing, the practice of excluding livestock from a pasture between late spring and mid- to late-summer to allow reseeding of desirable pasture species, can be used as a pasture rejuvenation tool to improve pasture persistence, and to control feed supply and pasture quality at farm scale.
Come and hear leading farmers discuss how they use deferred grazing in beef, sheep and dairy systems, the benefits, and tips for successful implementation. Scientists will also provide you with an update from an on-going trial exploring the impacts of deferred grazing on legumes and root growth.
