Praise for ‘Curiosity - Farmers Discovering What Works’

“These case studies are packed with lots of information and delivered it in an entertaining way. I'm sure farmers will find it all very useful. It has brought back to me what I loved about my job.”

Jon Morgan, retired journalist and last editor of ‘The New Zealand Farmer’

"It's short, less than 200 pages, but I found myself underlining and circling something in virtually every essay. It's dense, packed with sensible advice gleaned from dozens of on-farm experiments over numerous decades."

Joel Salatin, ‘Meadown Talk’ columnist

“At last: a book of pithy, hard-won experiences expertly garnered and filtered from thinking farmers who have learnt by having the courage to make mistakes. Admirably well written, this book ‘Curiosity - Farmers Discovering What Works’ is not just founded on the author’s practical experience, but also built on scientific training, sound economics, and an acutely observant eye that roams over dozens of excellent case-studies in different environments. Blended with the occasional brief essay about leading regenerative farming thinkers and scientists, the result is generously shared experience from some of New Zealand's top farmers - but seen, filtered and enhanced through the knowledgeable and holistic eye of the author.

“This invaluable and important book should be compulsory reading for anyone daring to manage farming landscapes with an eye to contributing to healthier farmscapes and catchments, rural families and their animals, and to a sustainable future. How I wish I could have read and lived in such a book as this when I was a young farmer preparing to make all the mistakes. A farming, social, and environmental gem.“

Charles Massy, author ‘Call of the Reed Warbler’ and ‘Breaking the Sheep’s Back’
