Seeking: Looking for full time position on regenerative farm
From: Lena Grabenauer
I’ve been working in agriculture for over four years now, mostly on organic mixed farms in Germany. During that time, I’ve cared for cattle, pigs, sheep, and poultry, used a range of machinery, and gained some solid experience managing small teams and interns. For two years, I worked at Bärenbrunnerhof, a regenerative farm that was also open to the public, so I got used to explaining our farming practices and values to visitors. It was challenging but rewarding, and it made me even more passionate about the kind of farming that puts soil health, animal welfare, and sustainability first.
Before starting my formal apprenticeship, I spent time working on a dairy farm in Taupo, and it left a big impression on me. Since then, I’ve been eager to come back to New Zealand. Not just for another experience, but to really settle and contribute. I’ve now completed my agricultural training in Germany, which lines up with a ANZSCO Level 3 qualification in New Zealand. I’m ready to commit to a long-term role, and ideally to grow into more responsibility over time.
Alongside my practical farming skills, I bring curiosity, resilience, and a genuine drive to keep learning and improving. I’m also confident working with others, having led a team of up to five people and often working with international volunteers. I’d love to join a team where knowledge is shared, where good work is appreciated, and where there’s a shared commitment.
The idea of working on a forward-thinking farm in New Zealand, especially one that values regenerative practices, would for me be the perfect combination of profession and passion. Farming isn’t just a job for me; it’s something I care about deeply, especially when it comes to working with animals and improving the land we farm on.
