Selwyn Waihora Water Zone Committee and Quorum Sense are hosting an information day for curious farmers to learn more about the benefits of regenerative farming practices.
Subjects covered will include:
Improved farm practices and management for healthier soils and freshwater
Alternative & innovative wintering options with cost comparisons
Soil health and how it impacts on-farm resilience to climate change and extreme weather events
Low nitrogen all grass systems and multi-species pastures
Techniques to help meet criteria for reducing GHG emissions
The day will involve a morning workshop held at Glentunnel Community Centre followed by a field trip to Scarlett dairy farm who are using regenerative farming practices.
